A Costco-brand Cold and flu medicine Pulled from shelves “due to possible foreign material contamination.”
A notice shared on the retail giant's website said the recall involves item number #1729556 with specific lot code P140082 for Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion, which was sold in select locations in the Midwest and Southeast.
“Out of an abundance of caution, LNK has initiated a recall for the accidental release and shipment of a specific lot code that was rejected due to possible foreign material contamination,” the statement said.
Affected over-the-counter drugs were purchased by consumers between October 30 and November 30, 2024.

Consumers are asked not to use any remaining products with lot codes and return them to Costco for a full refund.

Last month, there were 8,640 boxes of Kirkland Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion Day & Night Pack. Withdrawn by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found oral phenylephrine to be “not effective” as a nasal decongestant after an “extensive review.”

The December recalled boxes of Kirkland cold and flu products had the numbers P139953 or P139815 with an expiration date of August 2026.
