In response to news of Zuckerberg's promise to “restore” the fact-checkers on Facebook, Instagram and other meta platforms by getting rid of fact-checkers and replacing them with “community notes” similar to Musk's at X, Musk replied, “That's cool.”
X CEO Linda Iaccarino also celebrated Zuckerberg's move, writing in X that Community Notes “has been profoundly successful in keeping free speech sacred.”
He added, “This is a smart move by Zuke and I hope other platforms follow now that X has shown how powerful it is. Bravo!”

Fox News was the first to report that Meta its end fact-checking programs and lifting restrictions on speech to “restore free expression” across its platforms, admitting that its current content moderation practices “go too far.”
