Referring to alleged inconsistencies in her recounting of events, the filing continued, “By any objective measure, the truth is that nearly every step of plaintiff's narrative — from her arrival at the VMAs to her interactions with limousine drivers and celebrities — is proven to be false or highly exaggerated. Plaintiff's allegation raises a reasonable doubt that Mr. Carter raped her, which he did not.”
The motion seeks monetary sanctions against Buzbee and the Buzbee Law Firm for “alleging facts without adequate investigation.”
According to Spiro, “If lawyers don't face consequences for such cavalier attempts to damage another person's reputation and inflict emotional harm on their loved ones, that strategy will proliferate.”
Buzbee emphasized in a statement The Rolling Stones That he would not be “bullied or intimidated” by the “frustration” of Jay-Z's attorneys.

Despite attempts by Jay-Z's lawyers to have the case thrown out, Jane Doe stands by her claim. “Honestly, what happened to me is the clearest one and the path I took for what happened to me,” he told NBC News in December.
