Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is done with the “culturally neutral” elements of corporate America and embracing “masculine power” The DEI program gets confused.
“It's one thing to say we want to be welcoming and create a good environment for everybody, and I think it's basically saying that 'masculinity is bad,' and I think we've culturally kind of changed that part of the — kind of — spectrum. ,” Zuckerberg said during his recent interview with Joe Rogan.
Zuckerberg, who grew up with only sisters and now only has daughters, told Rogan that he wants women to succeed, but doesn't think masculinity needs to be classified as “toxic” for that to happen.
The tech billionaire credits martial arts for changing his heart when it comes to masculinity, telling Rogan that doing something with his male friends where they can “beat each other up” was a “positive experience” for him.
“I think a culture that celebrates aggression a little bit more has its own qualities that are really positive,” Zuckerberg added.
The release of the episode of The Joe Rogan Experience came on the same day that Meta ended its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs.
The company cited changes in the “legal and policy landscape around diversity, equity and inclusion efforts” in a memo from Jenelle Gale, Mater's vice president of human resources.
“The term 'DEI' has also become charged, as it is perceived by some as a practice that suggests preferential treatment to some groups over others,” Gale wrote in the memo.
