Etihad Airways opened its new Etihad US Preclearance Lounge at Zayed International Airport on December 30, enhancing the travel experience for passengers flying to the US.

Located steps away from the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) preclearance facility, the new lounge offers qualified guests a quiet place to relax after completing their US entry formalities and before boarding their flight.

The thoughtfully designed facility features a refined selection of beverage and light food options, complementing Etihad's premium travel experience. Select flights offer direct boarding facilities from the lounge, enhancing a seamless journey.

John Wright, Chief Operations and Guest Officer, Etihad Airways, said, “This new lounge marks another milestone in our commitment to provide an exceptional experience for our guests.

“By combining our premium lounge service with the convenience of US preclearance, we offer our guests an enhanced journey to Abu Dhabi before boarding their flight. Zayed International is the only hub in the Middle East to offer this time-saving service.”

The US Preclearance Lounge welcomes eligible guests traveling in Residence, First or Business, as well as Platinum and Emerald Etihad Guest members. Access is also available for purchase, subject to availability.

For a comprehensive premium experience, eligible guests are invited to begin their journey in Etihad's acclaimed First or Business Class lounges in the main terminal before proceeding to the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) preclearance facility.

Flying to the US with Etihad Airways offers the unique benefit of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) preclearance facilities, one of the few such facilities worldwide. By completing all US customs and immigration formalities before boarding in Abu Dhabi, guests arrive in the Kingdom as domestic passengers, saving valuable time on arrival. Guests can simply collect their bags and leave, or proceed seamlessly to their connecting flight.

Etihad currently serves four US destinations with nonstop flights to Boston, Chicago, New York and Washington DC. The airline will launch service to Atlanta in July 2025, further strengthening its commitment to the North American market.
