Gulf Air (GF), the national carrier of Bahrain, continues to refine its India flight network. The airline will have significant adjustments for the summer of 2025.

Gulf Air has also made major adjustments to its India network for the winter 2024 season. Further, the airline will make further changes, including reductions in select routes and expansions in others. Aviation A2Z reported in a news report.

These further adjustments reflect Gulf Air's efforts to optimize its operations and better align with passenger demand in its core markets in India. Change is coming to South Indian cities.

According to The Indian Aviation Guy (X) on Twitter, Gulf Air (GF) will shift its network from four Indian cities. Two of these cities will see reduced flights operated by Gulf Air (GF).

The airline will fly to the city along the Malabar Coast in the state of Kerala – Kozhikode, also known as Kozhikode Calicut. The last flight departs from Kozhikode (CCJ) on 28thm March 2025. Gulf Air (GF) currently operates 4 flights a week and competes with Air India Express (AIX). Air India Express (AIX) operates 4 times a week flights to the sector.

Kerala is traditionally considered to be in high demand in the Gulf region. This move by the airline is rather surprising. However, there is no clear reason why the airline is shutting down its operations at Kozhikode (CCJ). May be, Gulf Air (GF) is not able to compete with Air India Express (AIX) in the sector.

Bangalore (BLR):

Bengaluru (BLR) will see the maximum capacity addition by Gulf Air (GF) during the 2025 summer season. The airline plans to double its presence at Bangalore (BLR).

Gulf Air (GF) has reportedly opened bookings for a 2n.d Flights that operate 7 times a week. The airline currently operates 7 flights a week to Bengaluru (BLR). The new flight will double the capacity of the airline.

The airline had planned to reduce the frequency to Bengaluru a few weeks ago

(BLR) to 6x weekly. However, it seems the airline was in the process of updating the GDS (Global Distribution System). Gulf Air is now planning to fly twice a day from 31St March 2025.

Goa Dabolim (GOI):

Gulf Air (GF) will increase flights to 7 times a week. The airline now flies 4 times a week to the sector.

The introduction of daily flights reflects the strong and growing travel demand in Goa. There are no other airlines in this sector.

Kochi (COK):

Gulf Air will reduce flight frequency to 3x weekly starting from 6m April 2025. The airline now operates 4x weekly flights with Airbus A320 aircraft.

Gulf Air competes with Air India Express (AIX) in the A sector. Air India Express (AIX) flies 6 times a week between Kochi (COK) and Bahrain (BAH).
