Robinsons Land Corporation, the parent company of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts that promotes the NUSTAR Tourism Complex in the southern Philippines, recently promoted Maria Socorro Isabelle Aragon-Gobio to the role of president and chief executive.
Aragon-GoBio's appointment is effective February 1st, with changes to the company's board approved today, January 6th.
In an official statement, the corporate board commented: “Ms Aragon-GoBio brings with her a wealth of experience, deep industry expertise and a forward-thinking mindset that will lead Robinsons Land Corp into a new chapter of growth and innovation.”
The new CEO has more than three decades of experience in the Philippine real estate industry.
He joined Robinsons Land in 1993 and previously held significant leadership roles in logistics, residential and office development and mixed-use estates.
A timely campaign
The promotion of Aragon-GoBio is timely in light of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts' comprehensive plans for 2025.
Nustar Resort and Casino in Cebu, in particular, is slated to open a new luxury hotel within the year.
The new hotel is part of Robinsons Hotels & Resorts' plan to invest more than US$171.5 million over the next few years to transform the industry in the country currently in the Philippine hospitality scene.
Currently, NUSTAR Hotel Cebu offers 223 rooms, adding to the 379 rooms already under the Philly Hotel brand.
A third hotel under Robinson's Grand Summit brand is expected to open in early 2027, bringing the complex's room capacity to 985.
