The European hostel chain has opened its 42n.d European Hostel, located in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. The centrally located hostel currently has 296 rooms, 45 parking spaces and a total area of 20,000 square meters. The acquisition of the former 'The President Brussels Hotel' on Boulevard du Roi Albert is followed by the opening of an Antwerp Central in October 2024.
Founder and CEO Oliver Winter said, “It is truly unusual to have two exceptional venues opening in Belgium in the space of a few weeks. First Antwerp and now Brussels, this fulfills our growth targets in Belgium.” The opening of A&o Brussels Centrum brings the total number of beds worldwide to over 30,000.
The renovation and modernization of the hostel is planned in phases over the next year and A&o expects to invest around seven million euros in the project, expanding the hostel to 377 rooms.

“Property transfers are our favorite, they enable dynamic and healthy growth for A&Hostel,” said Oliver Winter, founder and CEO. Transformations are also a focus for further growth of the business. In February 2025, A&o Firenze Campo di Marte will be the second hostel opening in Italy with 121 rooms in a former municipal administration building.
2024 preliminary results
In 2024, it is estimated that there were about 2.7 million guests with about 6.2 million overnight stays. a&o is expected to expand further in 2025, with potential a&o locations including London, Manchester, Paris, Madrid and Lisbon.
