That show admittedly falls short of the original show's overall quality, but the angel Rightfully remembered as one of the greatest spinoffs in television history. what a lot Buffy What fans don't realize, though, is that we've almost got the potential for something even better the angel: A Faith spinoff focusing on the popular vampire slayer, Eliza Dushkur.
The Buffy Faith spinoff
The idea was the brainchild of Tim Miner the angel writer who later became an Emmy-nominated executive producer American Horror Story. after Buffy the Vampire Slayer Ended in 2003, Miner wanted to follow up on the show with a separate Faith spinoff that would follow the Slayer's adventures as she returns in Season 7 to help Buffy save the world. Originally, Miner envisioned his show as a “meeting of faith.” kung fu“
This is, of course, a reference to the amazing 70s TV show starring David Carradine where the main character wanders the Old West, righting wrongs wherever he encounters them. when Buffy Mostly focused on the specific location of Sunnydale, Miner wanted the title character of the Faith spinoff to be “perhaps on a motorcycle, crossing the globe, trying to find his place in the world.” He acknowledged that the show would “get a strain at some point”, but he felt “somewhere the idea of his core felt wrong to me” and “the idea of him constantly moving around felt right to me.”
When he originally appeared BuffyKeeping faith in this spinoff will actually pay off in one of its biggest storylines the angel. As Miner points out, Faith broke out of prison in that show to help stop Angelus (the immoral and sadistic monster Angel becomes when she loses her soul). She later went to Sunnydale to help Buffy stop the First Evil, but “had some people after her” after her jailbreak, which may explain why Faith is constantly moving from place to place in her own spinoff.
Why didn't it happen?
after BuffyFans were hungry for more, and a Faith spinoff would probably have been successful given the popularity of Eliza Dushku, so why was the show never made? There were ideas for a Giles spinoff, a Spike movie, an animated spinoff, and even a Slayer School show featuring some of the newly minted Slayers from Buffy's seventh season. While all of them could have been fun (especially the Giles show), none had the sheer potential for a spinoff featuring Faith. That's because, as this Rogue Slayer once joked, fans are always ready to “thank god” for “hot chicks with superpowers.”
