A sweeping change to Meta's internal and external policies this week included removing tampons from the men's room, according to a report.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Tuesday that the company will An end to its controversial fact-checking practice And Facebook, Instagram and Meta lifted restrictions on speech to “restore free expression” across platforms, admitting that its content moderation practices had “gone too far.”
By Friday, Meta had completed its major Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs.
The New York Times reported the change in a piece on Friday title“Inside Mark Zuckerberg's Sprint to Remake Meta for the Trump Era,” warns, “The backlash has only just begun.”

According to the Times, in addition to removing transgender and non-binary customization themes on its Messenger app and changing its “hateful conduct” policy to allow criticism of gender identity, the company has taken an active role in changing corporate culture in the office.
“At Mater offices in Silicon Valley, Texas, and New York, facilities managers were instructed to remove tampons from men's bathrooms, which the company provided for non-binary and transgender employees who use men's rooms and who may need sanitary pads, two employees said. ” reported the Times.
LGBTQ employees vented their anger in internal resource channels, with at least one announcing his resignation, while others said they would seek new jobs.

Mater Chief Global Affairs Officer Joel Kaplan Fox News Digital told Friday that the move to end its diversity, equity and inclusion programs will ensure the company is “building teams with the most talented people.”
He added that “this means valuing people as individuals, and sourcing people from a range of candidate pools, but never making hiring decisions based on protected characteristics such as race or gender.”
Regarding the timing of changes to Matter's fact-checking programs, Kaplan told Fox News Digital that the company “now has a real opportunity.”
“We have a new administration coming in that is far from pushing companies to censor [is more] is a huge supporter of free expression,” Kaplan said. “It brings us back to the values that Mark founded the company on.”
