The leased aircraft, painted in the airline's bright pearl livery and to be used as technical extras and for training purposes, will be unveiled at the airline's home airport, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
The airline's much-anticipated cabin interior will soon be revealed, the aircraft will not feature a new cabin but a high-specification interior to meet the expectations of guests when flying with a world-class modern airline.
The aircraft is separate from the original Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft order of 72 aircraft and will be used for training purposes in the coming months. It will continue the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) process with the General Authority of Civil Aviation before acting as a technical surplus to Riyadh Air to allow it to start operations after 2025.
The opportunity to lease this aircraft demonstrates the innovative nature of Riyadh Air to develop solutions and start serving the people of Riyadh and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2025.
