As with anything in life, the secret to becoming Steph Curry or Sabrina Ionescu is practice, practice and more practice. You exercise when it's too hot, too cold, you're tired, or you're sick.

Finding a willing partner through all this, however, is another question altogether. The good news is that later this year, you might be able to buy one — for a cool $1,000.

Davy Robot's Datic 1 has attracted attention This week at CES 2025Attendees lined up to shoot some hoops on the busy show floor. The bot sits under a hoop, rebounding the ball after you take a shot.

The system is (relatively) portable at about 33 pounds. You wheel it under a hoop, and the arms extend upward, taking the net with it. At CES the hoop was considerably shorter than the control, but the final version will be able to extend the standard 10 feet into the air. The robot uses machine vision and AI to track the shooter, turning its head to backtrack.

Davey says it's shooting for a Kickstarter launch in June.

I'm hiding it under the post and between a large head and interlinking sweep, fyi
