Bitbot makes robotic pool cleaners. In fact, the company is showing off a new one with a docking station this week CES 2025. What really caught our eye on the show floor was the RoboTurtle, because, well, it’s a robot that looks like a turtle.

“Robotic Turtle embodies our vision to use BitBot’s leading technology to address complex environmental challenges around the world,” said BitBot executive York Guo. “It is a partner to help protect communities and preserve safe water levels for all animals This unique robot serves conservationists, scientists and emergency responders as well as good for the planet.”
The idea is to build a solar-powered robot that can navigate bodies of water, monitoring their quality through onboard sensors. Bitbot claims that its decision to lean into biomimicry with its turtle design is a bid to, “lower[e] Disruption of surrounding ecosystem.
At some future date, such systems could be deployed to monitor oil spill conditions, survey disaster damage, and monitor endangered species in their natural habitats.
