Universal Studios Hollywood is closing the gates to the theme park and Universal Citywalk on Wednesday due to “extreme wind and fire conditions” caused by multiple wildfires in Southern California.

“Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk will be closed today due to high wind and fire conditions,” the theme park said. “We will continue to assess the situation and hope to open for business tomorrow. The safety of our team members and our guests is our highest priority.”
Four wildfires in Los Angeles County were 0% contained as of Wednesday morning. According to CalFire, the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Hearst Fire and Woodley Fire — these fires combined have damaged more than 5,700 acres.
Another in Riverside County, the Tyler Fire, has burned 15 acres but is 100% contained.
The National Weather Service forecast Wednesday “widely damaging winds and extreme fire weather for much of Los Angeles/Venture County.”
More than 30,000 people have been ordered to evacuate due to the wildfires.
